kota is very good tourist places in india it's has many tourist places such as forts, magnificent palaces and marvelous temples etc. and kota has still retains the past glory that dates back to the 12th century when kota was formed by the Rajputs. The Hada chief, Rao Deva, conquered the terrain in the 14th century, but in 1624, Mughal Emperor Jahangir made kota an independent state and the son of Bundi's Ruler, Rao Madho Singh ascended the throne. There are several tourist attractions in kota such as the Chambal Garden, Maharaja Madho Singh Museum, Jag Mandir, Haveli of Devtaji, Dussehra Mela, etc. But apart from the fine tourist destinations, kota is also an exciting place for shopping.

When Pirthi Singh, son of Umed Singh of Bundi ascended the throne of Bundi, kota came within his authority and Zalim Singh carved a completely new principality for his descendants. This set up continued until the whole of India rebelled against British domination. Finally when India became independent, kota became a part of the state of Rajasthan.
